And GrandPrix.com speculates that DC might end up at Toyota or out
entirely, and Williams might approach Rubens. (They suggest that if
Webber had not been firmly contracted to Jaguar and Renault the JPM
move would have occurred in 2004.)
Impossible to tell at this point. The question in my mind is *why*
McLaren chose to make the announcement now. ("Ending speculation over
2004" seems a bit thin.) Of course it's unlikely that Williams could
not guess that JPM was pretty much tied up for 2005, but perhaps
McLaren calculated that the increased pressure resulting from a public
announcement would disrupt JPM's performance at Williams more than DC's
performance for *them*.
