here's a site where you can get all the peices of the engine needed to build one. it 
is around 5700, but as mazda becomes able to build a greater surplus of these engines, 
it should become less expensive.  As for working with the older cars, that's a good 
question, but 
     "As long as you have a bandsaw, a heli-arc, a mill,
      and a lathe, everything is a direct bolt on".

Knowing that mazda is owned by ford, however, it's a pretty safe bet that it will
