Replacement Fuel Injectors

Hi All--

My mechanic is telling me that the fuel injectors on my FD are leaking (I
took it in because of a strong gas smell from the engine) and that the two
fuel injector kits are $900 + $1200 for a total of $2100. He's told me that
it's some sort of kit that includes much more than just the injector, and
that to have it fixed properly everything needs to be replaced.

I'm a little concerned because the hoses and injectors shouldn't really cost
more than $750 or so, I'm just not sure where that extra $1300 is coming
from.

He said he can replace just the injectors and hoses for much cheaper but
that it probably won't last more than a year.

Any insight?

Thanks much,
