Kieth,
Well, like yourself, I grew up a Welfare kid, and lived in a crack
house. Coming home from school, I would get shacked down by the cop
posted in my hallway when going up to my apartment. I still am not
rich, have a tiny home, youngest car is 6 years old, etc, etc. I've
had to work hard to achieve the level of poverty I'm at now, and I am
proud.
You don't see the value in this site? The value in these
conversations, the 'kid'? Rather than rant, offer advice, example:
"Nice site needs work, but rather than just begging for money for a
car, why not volunteer your skills and make a site for your church, or
local charity? Your skills will grow, and you might be able to work
right out of high school and grow your own company." Charity isn't
just giving away money, but giving advice/knowledge/guidance to those
seeking/needing it. Watch the site, he might have talent not in doing
html, but thinking of ways of networking, learning limited sales
skills, and you might have the chance to change the future of young
mind in a positive way.
Donate advice to the young and naive, not just the tons of money you
donate to established charity organizations. You might just prevent a
soul from being down on his/her luck and needing those charity
organizations.
:)
