Pump replacement can be done without dropping the tank completely. The tank must be half full or less. Pump out excess. There is no drain valve in the bottom of the tank as there should be. A block and jack must be under the tank to control lowering and raising. Remove the lines and loosen the filler connection so it will disconnect when the tank is lowered. Remove the electrical connector to the pump. Loosen the tank straps and lower enough (a decimeter or so) to access the pump. Unscrew the pump and reverse the steps to disassemble. Replace the fuel filter. Check for leaks before and during engine running. I am not responsible if you ignite the contents of your fuel tank during the job, so perform this service at your own risk.
