Help! I need help quick! Who know's Jeeps?

My 83 CJ7 won't start. It turns over and sparks, and the Weber carb is
sending gas, it just won't start. I heard a "pop" sound, kinda loud from the
engine compartment, and was wondering if anyone else experienced this before
their Jeep went dead. Again, she gets gas, seems to spark, nothing's siezed
that I can see. She just doesn't catch and start. Any help is appreciated.
