Actually no, but not crossing the white line is the correct behavior. The possibility that you might get hung out to dry is not an excuse for crossing the white line. I get stuck in bumper to bumper traffic virtually every afternoon. Frequently other drivers on the highway speed up to close a gap in the traffic stream in an attempt to keep me and others from moving over. However, so far I have made it home every afternoon, so I don't think their rude behavior can be considered a life altering experiences for me. Also, I've seen plenty of people cross over the white line on an entrance ramp and then deliberately cut off the other people using the ramp in the intended manner. And then there are the ones who move into the ramp to use it as a passing lane. If everyone would just calm down and drive responsibly, things would go a lot better. Ed
