The odds and ends, were like shampoo,  clothes, personal items.   I'll have
him change that.

People give to less causes than this,  One woman got money to pay off her
credit card debt and took a trip
(nobody put her into debt, but her, though people were willing to help her
out).
Don't knock a kid that put a lot a thought and work into this.

He works summers, outside in 100+ heat and Texas Humidity,  laying 6-8 inch
around by 600+ feet long pipe.
He's just turned 16 and so couldn't work full time hours.  Where do you
work?  In the A/C?

Again don't knock the kid from trying.  It's call entrepreneur enterprising,
not BEGGING.
Those are the ones the put no effort other than to stand on the corner the a
cardboard sign, then go home to a two story house.

Nothing my son does makes me ashamed.  He's a very good kid, hard working.
You should be so lucky.
