Approximately 12/3/03 17:12, Travis uttered for posterity: > I have a 95 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo with a 4.0 I6 242. I have > plenty of power in town at sea level , but once I go above 2000 feet > and climb it starts to loose power and my top speed is between 60 and > 65 mph. Also, it never fails, a fowl oder enters the cab, it does't > smell like exhaust or gas, but is chemical smelling. Has anyone else > had this problem? Definitely not normal, mine actually seems to run better between about 2000 and 3000, with top speeds in excess of "arrest me" still available at well over 7000 on a freeway. May be productive to figure out what kind of chemical smelling it is...knock wood someone will recognize it. > > I have changed the plugs, wires, cap and rotor, TPS and owygen sensor. > I am getting a code of 23 on my dash to replace the Intake Air > Temperature Sensor and I'm in the process of replacing it. Could it > be the problem? Or could the MAP sensor be bad? I'd replace the intake temp sensor and try it, but if I had to take a WAG, the MAP sensor would be high on the list of suspects. Except that I have no clue what is causing the chemical smell. -- Still a Raiders fan, but no longer sure why.
