bad smell

hi all'
i have a 1997 chevy lumina,when i first start the engine their is a
very bad smell in the car.
as idrive it goes away, but when i stop and start again it comes back.
con anyone tell me what this is and how to fix it;it smells like
burning oil but no oil can be seen
