Not sure why, as I don't buy-into the idea that a happy couple is a boring one -- Paul and Cassandra were happy for a time, but their happiness wasn't boring, and they were not SO sicky sweet all the time...we knew he loved her with all his heart, but it didn't come across as putty-worship like it did with Christine. Something about the way men can't see straight and drool all over themselves when they're paired with TGCW (The Great Christine Williams) emasculates them in much the same way women seem to misplace their brains once under the spell of TGVN.
