Re: OLTL: Tina and Cain

Actually, since Malone's return, i've noticed occasional references to
_many_ past cast members - not just those of Malone's run but after (ie
Mel) and before...it seems like he's trying to give little nods to the
audience like "yes, i know and respect the show's history even though
the network suits are simultaneously forcing my hand and making me write
stories that dishonor its history."

As for the Tina/Cain story - that was mentioned pretty shortly after the
Flash=Sarah reveal and at that point it seemed like this was a sudden
storyline change than what was planned (ie Flash wasn't supposed to be
Sarah but someone from the network most likely interfered and had it be
so) and that the story was either a very hasty explanation by the
writers to make something unworkable work or maybe even a hint that
Flash was lying that she was Sarah and giving a fake story - however too
many indications since have pretty much made it clear that Flash is
indeed Sarah so it's unlikely the writers will reference that odd
Tina/Cain story again (hoping we'll forget it). I don't expect any
further mentions of Tina (aside from the occassional "hmm - I wonder
where she is and what happened to her") until the day comes when the
show actually DOES get serious about casting Tina, Cord, and/or CJ.

Along the same lines, it also bugged me when Flash went to London (off
screen) to visit with a voice specialist and also presumably to be
looked after by Clint and by extension Cord - since they weren't
recasting Cord i can accept the nature of her visit being "off screen"
but being how she had SO LONG been seperated from her father i would
have expected SOME kind of "fill-us-in" reference of what happened and
how the reunion was when she was there - and why Cord WOULDN'T have
either followed her back to LLanview, had her stay there, or raise
renewed hell with everyone back home as to why they didn't mention her
being in Llanview sooner to him or renewing a search for Tina (or any
further clues as to where CJ is - one would think Cord would at least
have been in touch with him.) If they were not going to follow up on
ANY of this, why even bother to send her to London? Why not have the
voice doctor be in some other country or state that doesn't carry the
loaded signifigance?
