There's one in > Hull, it's only 3000 capacity but has all the same problems. Its definitely not true of all the modern ones. Sheffield (now the "Hallam FM" arena) for example, is an *excellent* venue to work in. Theres really very little to complain about - even for an inveterate whinger like me. Marshalling/parking trucks and busses is easy. The load in is easy, rigging is easy, theres bags of room for storing dead cases, plenty of room to manouver a forklift, and there's even a good sized kitchen just where its needed for catering. And yes (dragging myself back on topic) the control room has a view! Ironically, it was the first 'proper' ice arena to be built in the UK. (Sorry, Hull doesn't count, I'm talking about proper arenas! :o) The ones I was referring to were the two most recently built, so that definitely ain't progress! Sean x
