Allow me to stick my foot in, too, and say that I couldn't
believe for more than a minute at a time that it was anything
other than a movie.  The characters' humor was all punchlines and
their danger was all action sequences -- they even threw in a car
chase.

You want a fanboy admission?  My discomfort at the film began
when they showed the credits with that strange sideways 'M' for
an 'E'.  There, I've said it.

That wouldn't help.  I can't believe Denise Crosby is from
anywhere other than Southern California.

I can even justify it:  Sela tried an invasion of Vulcan and
failed.  She is of the previous administration to the one that
became the previous administration at the beginning of the film,
and as likely to return.
