No. Here is the theological definition of Christianity: "Christianity is the name given to that definite system of religious belief and practice which was taught by Jesus Christ in the country of Palestine, during the reign of the Roman Emperor, Tiberius, and was promulgated, after its Founder's death, for the acceptance of the whole world, by certain chosen men among His followers." Therefore a Christian is one who follows that system of religious belief and practice. Since Jesus of Nazareth definitely followed it, He can be called a Christian. In other words it has to do with the system of religious belief and practice, not the person of Christ. Finally, the Messiah must be a Jew by definition. As must the Anti-Christ, because the Anti-Christ is the *false Messiah* misleading people into believe he is the Savior. No one with a shred of theological understanding would believe anyone but a Jew is the Messiah, therefore the false one must be a Jew (or claim vehemently that he is) in order to mislead. What that means is this: If you follow the Messiah, you are following the Christ. Christus is the Roman term for The Annoited One (i.e., the Messiah because the Messiah is a King and kings are annoited -- remembering that the Messiah must be descended from the lineage of David and therefore heir to the throne). Therefore, whoever the True Messiah is, He is the Christ, and those that follow His teachings are rightfully called Christians (from the Roman term). Ergo, the Messiah, the Christ, would be a Jew and He would follow His own teachings. Therefore the first Christian must be a Jew whether or not you believe Jesus of Nazareth was the Messiah. Followers of Jesus of Nazareth's teaching believe He is the Messiah, therefore they claim the title "Christian". QED
