Tonight I can finally sleep. After 3 long years of the Medicare prescription drug bill dominating my professional life, the House and Senate (today) have finally passed the darn thing. It's been a rough past 2 weeks, but it's done, and my clients are pleased (well, mostly pleased), so I'm in a pretty good mood. I won't bore you all with the details, President Bush will be doing that over the next week, but whether you like the bill or not, it's a historic day in health care. If you do want to be bored by brief details here's a good, short summary: http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-srv/health/daily/graphics/medicare_111703.html Anyway, now that Medicare is wrapped up, I'm going to take a job as the health policy advisor to a House Ways and Means Committee member, so that's pretty exciting too. Just had to gush a bit, now back to your regularly scheduled programming... Erik
