Way back to the late 60s, at least. Fred Saberhagen's
BROTHER BESERKER had the Berserkers trying to change the
past, and the effects of their changes took a while to
propagate down through the timestream. I'm sure it goes
back even further than Saberhagen, but I can't think of
another, prior example.
