Most shows built on that formula fizzle if they explore that romantic 
relationship.  The only show that comes to mind that didn't jump the 
shark at that point is Cheers, and I don't imagine you're doing this as 
a 30 minute sitcom.

Clearly the relationship between (the only?) two humans will be 
significant in some way.  I'd personally make it a permanent love-hate 
thing, where the guy dislikes the woman for some reason and the woman 
likes the guy for some reason.  That would open up a lot of potential 
conflict, with the guy disliking a fellow human possbily more than the 
robots that hold him captive and her giving them orders that can 
contradict his.
