that makes me feel so old.

You old enough to have used System 1? --

Don't know about the rest, but I'm old enough to have worked with punch cards, paper tape, and systems using vacuum tubes in the processor.

When my circuits professor was a grad student, he had the job changing tubes in Einiac (one would blow out about every 5 minutes, he told us). When I was an undergrad, they had one "bank" of it in the newly-created computer museum in the Engineering School (University of PA).

I just missed the punch card days, but I did get to use a PDP-8 with paper tape at my first job.
