Don't be selfish, give yourself to the force.  Hmmmm....
Doesn't Vader give into hate?  Hate is a power that is spawned from the
darkside [is love spawned from the Force?][is love the opposite of hate?].
The emperor says to Luke "Give into your hate ... and your journey towards
the darkside will be complete".  Its not as if the voyager toward the Dark
Side [once they have given in] can make desicions as easily anymore, once
they have given into hate, they seem to be bound by it somehow [the Dark
Side is like smoking crack].  They can't just hate this minute and love the
next as a moment by moment desicion making process.  The Dark Side enslaves,
So I disagree with your "selfish desires" concept.  It's not that simple or
easy.
