Put another way, she is saying, "Because this is the style I
wish to write in."  That is an unanswerable statement; it's
like saying, "I'm writing a western because those are the
sorts of stories I enjoy writing."  This leaves the critic
who does not care for westerns, period (by which I mean, in
this context, YOU) only one useful alternative:  politely
bow out, as you have nothing of value to offer in the way of advice.
