This piece reminds me of a recent one by Lisa Belkin in the New York Times
magazine-- so much so, that you might almost think this one was a satire based
on that one. 

Belkin talked to about 5 women who'd chosen to stay at home with their kids and
then called it a trend. I thought it was incredibly silly.
