I bought an Amana microwave/convection oven just to support Iowa. And was disappointed to discover that we get Anderson windows, not Pella. At least, some of my favorite mysteries are created in northeast Iowa, where my husband is from.

No, you want Marvin windows.

I replaced my 1927 model double-hung sash windows with double-hung sash Tilt-Paks from Marvin. For the attic dormer, I got their new European style windows that tilt in or swing, and they are perfect for that location. I now notice that the house is much quieter and not drafty anymore. They even did the wood across the front windows, making the big fixed windows 3 over 1s just like the originals.

Now, I'm trying to get a copy of the original front door. Nobody has 38" doors so it will have to be custom made. :(
