If 4 tracks are enough, try a Deva.  The hard drive is extremely robust and
you can run an internal battery plus an external battery simultaneously.
The only drawback (besides the 4 tracks compared to the PD6's 6 tracks) is
that you would either have to burn DVD's after the fact or send your hard
drives to post.  Another possibility would be renting the AAton if any are
available in this country.
I think the new Devas will be out in about a month (Glenn?) if your shoot
isn't imminent.
