Why would I assume that a freelance magazine photographer's anecdotal musings hold any more weight than the studies of a Harvard mathematics professor who has written a book on the subject?
Evidently, the *math* professor has a lot of *history* to learn, or Harvard has to find better professors, or both.

Evidently, he's not an history expert -- as the quotation attributed to him proves it. Numerous sources have already proved him to be wrong.
