Heh, there can be only two kinds of commercial movies in the world - that focussing on action or love. Wayne used to do only western movies which is one category of action movies. SRK has done movies of different types based on love. A Devdas is completely different character than his characters in Mohabatein or a K3G. An Amitabh used to be famous for only action movies like Lawaris or Don or Deewar though the characters in them were different. A Rajesh Khanna used to do only love stories but i can vouch that the characters in Aradhana or an Amar Prem were completely different. All these claims of SRK being stereotyped is nothing else but bilge. > The difference is that Cruise, in this stage of his career, does a variety of > films. Like porno "Eyes wide shut"? C'mon, Cruise is actually no longer giving hits like before and so has invariably gone to do roles with realistic scripts. Till he was a Box Office king, he used to do movies like Days of Thunder, Cocktail etc. Every actor or actress goes into arty roles once their films fail at the BO by a dozen so that they can remain in the news. Take Karisma or Raveena or Tabu for example. No one does them because of the liking for such films. An Ajay Devgan is doing those small-budget movies because most of his big-budget ones have failed. That dosen't mean you start blaming the actors who are commercial successes for not doing realistic scripts. > Popularity does not automatically equal quality. Then why only his films are doing well at the BO? AFAIK, Salman Khan, Sunny Deol, Sanjay Dutt and Ajay Devgan are also very popular. RJ
