Time to grab your tissues as Karan Johar is back with a
good starcast. This time he seems to push the biggest
tear-jerker of the year, Baghban, on the second slot. And
he has roped in SRK as the ailing but perky protagonist,
who lights up everyone's life. The film though appears to
trudge the tried and tested path of yesteryear's famous
Anand but with the contemporary look.

Set in the backdrop of New York, Kal Ho na Ho focuses on
the half-Punjabi, half-catholic Kapur family. Priety
Zinta is Naina Catherine Kapur, who shoulders the
responsibility of her siblings apart from her mother,
Jennifer Kapur (Jaya Bachchan) and great grandmother. She
is a no nonsense girl, who has a very few time for fun.
Enter vivacious Aman Mathur (SRK), who loves life to the
core. Aman, an incorrigible optimist, can read the
unhappiness writ large on Naina's face. So, he decides to
make a few changes in her life. To accomplish this, he
even ropes in his friend, Dr Rohit (Saif Ali Khan). But
everything is not hunky-dory with Aman either. He is
ailing with the fatal disease. What will happen to Naina?
Will she be able to take one more blow? Kal Ho Na Ho
promises a heart wrenching love tale.
