What are you talking about? I've made numerous criticisms of both
Jackson and Tolkien. Jackson's wizard duel was silly; the pacing in the
theatrical release of TTT was off; some of my favorite scenes didn't
make it into the movies. You claim that Jackson doesn't love the books,
which is ludicrous; _that_ is what I am responding to.
What is becoming clear, as I watch the documentaries, is how
frequently everyone associated with the films referred to the text, and
how much time, effort, and money they were willing to put in to make the
movies match what Tolkien said (when they could). The construction of
Edoras, the sacrifices they had to make so they could build it in a
locale that matched the text, should _inspire_ any Tolkien lover.
