You must submit a video performance, a audio tape, a resume of the band's accomplishments, even a band director's biography. You are selected approximately two years in advance. Anyone can apply. You can go to their website and get an application. Once selected, you have to send a video of what you are going to perform, go to a few meetings at your expense, and spend all night in NY on the eve of the parade. There is a rehearsal from 2-4:30 am, then you must be at the starting line by 7 am. It is a long night/day, but a worthy experience. Done it, and recommend everyone should try and do it at least once. Mike Longdo Band Director SRHS
