Finally getting around to digging out that dusty old Viz comix box...
I guess this Mai must be the 4-vol non-"Perfect" edition:
v1: ISBN0-929279-25-5, last chapter "Chosen by the Gods"
v2: ISBN0-929279-24-7, last chapter "Garten's Arrival"
v3: ISBN0-929279-27-1, last chapter "Two Aflight"
v4: ISBN0-929279-28-X, last chapter "Earth's Destiny"

Good luck finding v4 of the 4-vol 1989 printing.  Assuming that the
3-vol Perfect Collection has at least everything from the 4-vol Viz/
Eclipse, looks like you need v3 of the new edition.
