Re: Authors capable of writing REH's Conan?

Hard to say. Unless they've actually already TRIED, you haven't got much chance to evaluate how they would approach it. There are two ways to do it: one is to try, as nearly as humanly possible, to duplicate REH's writing. This is EXTREMELY difficult to pull off; it's rather like trying to do Doc Smith, in that there's a really fine line between parody, pastiche, and getting it right. The second way is to try to use your own style as much as possible, but adhere closely to Howard's setting and conventions. This can be difficult because the setting and conventions without Howard's writing may not work as well.
