Sounds like the overhype machine may have infected you. I heard plenty of
hype over 28 Days Later: SCARY AS HELL! Being the most prominent one.... and
when I first saw it I was vastly disappointed. However, after seeing it
again on DVD, I must say that it's a very good movie (and yes it does
emulate Romero's work somewhat). All I'm saying is, give it another shot.
I've found that movies I hated at first sort of grow on me after repeated
viewings...
