Have you seen any of them? I would imagine that, like anything else, some
were better than others.

I recently read a biography of Eisenstein, btw (yeah, no musicals). What
struck me the most about Soviet film censorship was that trying to make an
acceptable film was like trying to hit a moving target. Concepts and styles
that were good Communism one year were evil anti-revolutionary the next. And
visa versa.

Lincoln
