They unfortunately have a terrible slogan for the ad campaign. :-( Roseanne's
lines in the trailer made me groan a little; they're too self-conscious
( though I like her gag at the end of the trailer ). But I still think the
character designs are very appealing. Character movement looked cool.
Like in the couple of martial arts gags in the trailer, which must've been a
fun exercise for the animators to work on. I think this movie is going to be
entertaining.
A few of the insider reviews from the more animation-obsessed AICN'ers
have actually been positive (in the same sense as "Emperor's New
Groove"'s anarchy was a temporary breath of fresh air after the formula
elements of "Mulan" and "Tarzan")--
Although noting that most of whatever positive notice it's gotten was
considerably helped by an enthusiastic group audience spirit of "Hey,
guys!...'2-D is dead' THIS!! :) "
If luck holds out--and, like its two predecessors, gets a few moviegoers
past the poor mismarketing--somebody in the boardrooms could be in a
rather awkward position...
(Assuming, of course, that "Brother Bear" finally *does* get blamed on
its reviews, for a change.)
