Not all companies are so generous to writers/cartoonists. I occasionally thumb through "Writer's Digest" at the local library, and just about every issue will have an ad from Kimberly-Clark and/or Xerox imploring you not to use the word "Kleenex" for a tissue or "Xerox" for a photocopy.
