Preacher observation

    I have almost the entire "Preacher" series in TPB form, and it seems to
me that "Salvation" has been influenced quite a bit by the Captain Marvel
saga.  Here's what I mean:

    - Odin bears a strong resemblance to Dr. Sivana.
    - "Say the name!"
    - "Smear the cheese!" (as in "Big Red Cheese")
    - Gary, an envious wimp turned vicious bully, could be another Ibac.
    - During the showdown on the bridge, Jesse (while squinting, at least)
looks a little like the Captain.
    - Also during that scene, lightning comes into play.
    - Miss Oatlash could easily be interpreted as Captain Nazi; for that
matter, so could Gunther.
    - And, of course, the entire "definite hero vs definite villain"
storyline.
