My observation has been that most comic readers tend to stick to one
particular type of book that they like and not do much experimenting. For
instance, there are some folks that only like super-heroes, and those who
only like non-super-hero books.

For my part, I'm into just about everything, as long as it's done well. I
presently buy around 30 books a week, give or take. This includes the full
super-hero spectrums of both Marvel and DC, all the Vertigo titles, about 80
% of the Image line, probably 50 % of the Dark Horse output, and random
samplings throughout the rest of the industry. About the only current
company I don't support at all is Archie, and that's because a.) their
current output doesn't appeal to me and b.) I'm still mad at them for how
they treated Dan DeCarlo before his passing.
