My impression is that he handles the business end of things and, 
except where he's concerned that something will have a big negative 
impact (cue discussion of the spiking of the Elseworlds 80-page 
giant and the LoEG ad flap) doesn't interfere with the creative end 
much in his current position.  I've at least heard that he's very 
careful to avoid using his position to promote his past work or 
creative preferences (to the extent that DC probably underuses his 
material in TPBs and the like).  But that's just my observation 
from a great distance and via much secondhand (or worse) sourcing, 
so I could well be misinformed.
