Unfortunately, far too often using continuity details in a story becomes
building a story entirely around continuity details. I don't want to read a
story that exists only to further explicate something that happened 10 issues
ago. I don't think most non-fan readers do, either.

But the Batman who was heard on the radio wasn't entirely identical to the one
in the comics (and certainly not to the one in serials), anymore than the radio
Superman was identical to the comics one.
