Zerox/Gemworld/Sorcerer's World was the result of an exodus of magical beings from Earth. That original story wasn't presented by Levitz, but by whoever was writing Amethyst. It was simply Levitz who linked Gemworld and Zerox together. Also, TMK seemed to like the idea. The Atlantean connection I was mentioning came out of Arion and was a major part of the wrap-up for that series.
