If we restrict things to the Milky Way galaxy, then it's perfectly plausible that there are on the order of 10,000 planets with sentient life (in the DC universe, anyway...). This would give each GL about 3 worlds to patrol. Sure, that leaves billions of solar systems which aren't being patrolled...but if they're not inhabited, so what? On the off chance something important does happen in one of them, the Guardians will let the appropriate GL know about it. Doug
