I don't "watch" "The Parkers," but I've seen enough of it in channel surfing to have a good sense of its quality, or tremendous lack thereof. Likewise, you can flip through an issue on the stands every once in a while to see how a title is going. Assuming you have an adult-level reading speed, a minute or two should be enough to tell if you like it. Or, you can buy an issue here or there, but not follow it regularly. I wouldn't say I read Batgirl, but from skimming it on the stands, I know damned well I think it sucks. I don't know the specifics of Johanna's reading or buying habits well enough, but trying to invalidate her opinion with a comment like that is just silly. Hal. .
