I looked up _Thinking Biblically_ on Amazon and saw it's by Paul Ricoeur and some other French guy I never heard of. I never read anything by Ricoeur, but he seems a little...French, from what I've read about him in _Semeia_ or whatever. Is that right? Not that I've got anything at all against French philosophers, not in the least! It's just that I've read a couple structuralist commentaries on biblical stuff and that was more than enough for me thank you. Theory. Or is Ricoeur one of the good Frenchmen? I mean, if I buy this book it would have to go on my shelves along with Edmund Burke and Camille Paglia, if you get my drift.
