It's set in "rural Orange County" (is there such a thing any more) where dead souls haunt the water tables, and when it rains a lot, rise to the surface with the water level. Blaylock is great, and I love the rain, so it's a double pleasure to read the novels which are soaking wet. _All The Bells Of Earth_ is another, this one set in the town of Orange, California. A preacher is approached by a fellow who wants to sell his soul to the devil. Preacher man thinks he's a crazy man, but takes his money to help the church out. Turns out it's not such a scan after all. veg
