Another four minutes. Total time "wasted" by that entire subplot,
six minutes. (And please don't say "Then they would have had time for
the VoS, which was only 7 minutes!" because I'll just have to repeat
myself and say that that decision was about not wanting a denouement,
not about time.)

Book-Faramir also feels a moment of temptation when he sees the
Ring; he stood up stern and tall, with a strange smile, his grey eyes
glinting -- very similar to Galadriel's temptation. Temptation is not
the same as corruption; Boromir was corrupted. (Book-Faramir
immediately forsakes the Ring, laughing, but it is not clear whether he
was actually tempted or just teasing the hobbits. I think the latter
would be uncharacteristically cruel, and since he does say the test was
too stiff for Boromir it seems clear to me that he _was_ tested, if only
for a moment.)
