Ok, I give up. The OP comments that we can't necessarily say that
pipeweed is tobacco because it is 'never mentioned in LotR'. I cite a
reference where it not only is mentioned, but a type of pipeweed is
specifically referred to as 'tobacco'.

The strawman yet again rears its ugly head.
