Except that it isn't true. If you look at the Silmarillion, you see 
elves doing bad things such as killing their kin in order to steal their 
ships. Lots of characters, such as Saruman and Denethor, have mixes of 
good and evil, although by the time we see Saruman the evil has become 
dominant. "Even Sauron was not always evil." And there is no suggestion 
that Sauron's Southron and Easterling allies are evil and some (Sam's 
reflections on one of them he sees dead) that they are not.

Perhaps you are confusing the Norse with the Finns? Finnish is not 
Indo-European but the Nordic languages--Swedish, Danish, Norwegian et. 
al.--are. So is German.
