Legends and Costumes of Manneken-Pis How to describe this odd book? First some history -- the fountain featuring a statue of a small boy peeing is an historical landmark in Brussels. It has been stolen and kidnapped plenty of times throughout its history, although most of the thieves have regretted it (the tales are all in the book). This book, in addition to providing the history and legends of the Manneken-Pis features color photographs of the figure garbed in more than 120 historical to modern costumes from around the world; apparently the tradition of costuming the statue goes back to 1698. Editions Thill S.A., Brussels Belgium, 1984, 30 pages, 6 ¼" x 9 ½", trade paperback with two-staple binding, illustrated. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=3571142960 Auction closes 12/10/03.
