The book teaches beginning and intermediate programmers the components and syntax of the C language through practical exercises and realistic examples. C in Plain English also covers the anatomy of C programs, the languages strengths and weaknesses, and its unique features. Review: Even though I consider myself to be an okay programmer in Visual Basic, I never got C/C++ until I read this book. This is a great book to get started with C\C++. I have tried ZDU (Online University) and with their 40$ book that makes hardly any sense to anyone unless they have knowledge of object-oriented programming, and even with the online help, I had trouble. I have bought 2 other books and still didn't understand C until I started reading it in Plain English: Brian Overland's C++ In Plain English. He doesn't expect you to have and programming experiance and puts it in terms that even I can understand. He often makes referance to Visual Basic and FORTRAN in this book to let you know the similarities (and differances) between them. Bottom line: If you want to understand C/C++ without searching for months through book after book, buy this book. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=2769880406
