POB= Patrick O'Brian. Please see www.sea-room.com. In a nutshell, between 1960 and 2000 Patrick O'Brian wrote 20 novels and made himself king of the Naval Historic Novel genre. His series were written in chronological order starting in 1800 and the 20th is still within Napoleon's lifespan but rumors had hinted that POB's 21st book would have Admiral Jack Aubrey and Naval Surgeon Stephen Maturin meeting the tyrant. Earning the title of cult through their fervency, the POB fans await with anxiety their confluence with the Russell Crowe fans. If the new movie, Master and Commander: the Far Side of the World, prove successful it will give Crowe fans an Oscar and POB's cult a franchise movie with many successors and imitators. -- John Berg -- John Berg [EMAIL PROTECTED]
